exactly a year. strange! this year has been full of surprises and entertainment. i had the best school year ever, with the best first graders imaginable. seriously, it was ridiculous how awesomely well-behaved and intelligent they were. i also began working on my master's degree last august. i will be finished in exactly 4 weeks! it wasn't as difficult as i thought it would be; just extremely time consuming because of all of the papers to write.

kenny and i got engaged last october, after dating for over 2 and half years. no big plans to seal the deal yet; we're both trying to get grad school out of the way.

hanson. aww. amber, amanda, jen, and i drove to tulsa, ok, in may for the middle of nowhere acoustic recording session. hanson re-recorded their first cd with a small group of fans for the ten year annniversary of its original release. i hadn't seen them since october 2005, so it was nice to see everyone again. the session brought me to 19 shows! in two weeks, jen, amanda, and i are driving (amber is flying) to providence, ri, and boston, ma, to see hanson during two preview shows for "the walk," which happens to be one of their best cds ever... it's not out til the 24th; i got the japanese import released in february. :)

we also hit "the outsiders" filming locations! it was really surreal for me to 'step into' one of my favorite movies! ponyboy's house, the drive-in, the park... i was there. very fun.

at the end of june i flew to tennessee to visit the fam. i think i've been to tennessee more in the last year than i have any other year! this must be since chan lives there. speaking of, she and steven are doing well and are engaged now. they plan to be married next august. :)

and so seals another year. i will hopefully update this thing sooner than later... or you can just check back next summer. :)

what can i say? another year, gone... another summer, nearly over... and so it goes. :) this summer has been pretty productive compared to most, though. i've been tutoring a student and traveling more than usual.

at the beginning of the summer, kenny and i went to las vegas! it was so much fun! we stayed at the new york, ny hotel and casino on the strip. we took a day tour to the hoover dam and to the grand canyon (which was breathtakingly beautiful.) we saw a hypnosis show at the stardust. we hit the malls at caesar's palace and the aladdin, as well as the fashion show mall. we gambled very little, so the money we did lose didn't cause many shed tears. ;)

a couple of weeks ago, my mom, step-dad, and i went to tennessee for a week. we saw nearly all our relatives and had a really relaxing time. it was nice. i wanted to get over to carter's fold (just across the state line in Virginia from my hometown) and take photos but didn't get the chance. :( (yes, yes, i am a huge new fan of walk the line, johnny cash, and june carter cash.)

this school year was great. very challenging and at times extremely entertaining. i have an awesome office-mate and an incredible assistant, whom i get to stay with this year as well. holly and i have to move our rooms two doors down in the next few weeks due to an increase in kindergarten classes. it's ok. first grade just gets better and better!

i'll end this update and return my attention to the big brother 7 all stars live internet feed... my big brother hero, will (winner of BB2) is back and will keep me entertained for the next few months. hopefully. fingers are tightly crossed. :)

wow. i work on this site so much, adding&editing, that i never think about updating this here 'blog.' lol. hmm...

school got out exactly one month ago today! and what do i have to show for it? what have i been doing this summer? SLEEPING! i plan to dive headfirst into organzing the upcoming school year starting monday. *looks around nervously* i've been accumulating more resources [not like i need any... my office is full of stuff] and workable ideas. i think i can start rearranging my classroom, such as situating desks and centers. i visited my classroom on tuesday to drop off a bunch of things i've purchased and it looks as if the carpet has been shampooed. i also have a broken window... ??? looks as if a bbgun pellet shattered it. the glass is still there but it's fractured from bottom to top. gah.

i got to see lisa marie presley at the house of blues here in orlando in april! she was so wonderful. i feared that she was a horrible singer live, which was suggested by her promo appearances in 2003. not at all. she sounded just as good as her album... i was impressed and elated. the only downside was finding out a couple of days later on her site's messageboard that i could have gone to the meet 'n' greet had i posted on the board saying i was attending the show. ugh. you live and learn. i just hope i get another chance to meet a presley. :)

what else? i don't really know. i've opened up a bunch-a new fanlistings, as well as joined hundreds more. :p what can i say? i'm bored! ;)

i want to begin with... happy belated thanksgiving! i hope everyone spent an adequate amount of time with their family and friends, and had their fill to eat. :)

school is going well this year! i have a wonderful class, they're all little darlings and, as usual, intelligent. i haven't decided yet whether i prefer teaching kindergarten (like last year) or first grade. the kids are more self-sufficient in first. :)

kenny and i passed our 9-month anniversary 2 weeks ago. i adore him. he's the best. :)

hanson... i saw hanson 4 times this year. they did a radio promo here for the fourth of july (on the third); kenny and i were lucky to find them by their bus beforehand. they autographed my underneath cd cover, and kenny asked them to sign my penny & me single cover. they were extremely accomodating at that point in time... but they usually are, right before they start touring and the day in/ day out relentlessness of fans hasn't quite reared its ugly head. ;) i got photos with all three that day, and kenny got photos with isaac and zac. although kenny's not a full-fledged fan, after visiting with the brothers and conversating, he has a definite new-found respect.

the day after red, hot, + boom, july 4, amber, jen, amanda, and i traveled to georgia to spend the night with janet. we had an excellent time, indulging in a cookout and lots of hanson-discussion. :) the next morning we left for myrtle beach, s.c., for the opening show of hanson's tour. when we got there, taylor, isaac, and zac were going back and forth, back and forth, from the house of blues to the bus. taylor and isaac came over to sign autographs. :) our tour-following for that leg wrapped up the next day in atlanta.

my last show for the year was on september 2, here in orlando. kenny and chandra joined me... we had a lot of fun. sadly, there were no hanson-sightings except for, of course, while they were on-stage. i had an incredible year, nonetheless.

in case i don't update again before christmas, have a very happy holiday season... if you believe, santa will come through! ;)

i truly apologize for neglecting this website the way that i have. i hope i'll find time in the near future to update more often. :)

i became a full-time teacher in january. i took over a kindergarten class at the charter school where i substituted in the fall. it was a lot of fun... a big eye-opener and a huge learning experience. i had a wonderful time with a delightful class... the students that i had were incredible and very intelligent. in august i will return to the same classroom to teach first grade. i hope that a large chunk of my career will be spent at my current elementary school. :)

not only did i embark on my career this year, but my heart was captured as well by the most wonderful guy in the world. :-D kenny is my prince charming. he is everything you could ever ask for, and i dove him dery duch. ♥

i am extremely excited about this summer, as hanson is going back on tour next month. :) they're playing red, hot, + boom, a radio station-sponsored event here on july 3, then i am joining the usual awesome group of hanson fans to see them in myrtle beach on july 5, atlanta on july 6, orlando [again] on september 2, and clearwater, fl, on september 4. :) photos and recaps will come soon after. :)

right now i'm fighting with this noisebox that i'm attempting to install to replace my tagboard that just disappeared. please excuse my mess. :-x

hmm. a month since an update. :)

the hanson shows were wonderful. [atlanta being better than orlando]. the radio station event in orlando was kind of cool, and it was awesome having my sister [who's not a fan] share in the excitement. the florida street team arranged a group photo with hanson... too fun.

we slept [or tried to] on the sidewalk in front of the venue in atlanta to get front row and nearly froze to death. we got to see them a few times outside their hotel, too. the show was awesome, waiting outside all night and most of the day was definitely worth it for the front row. my hanson adventures for 2003 have drawn to a close and i'm content with the long-awaited new experiences. :)

i took several photos, a few which i shall once again share. ;) [the group photo i obviously didn't take and do not claim as mine. lol.]

i joined a massive amount of fanlistings today. i think the total count is up to 120 or so... up from around 30. i realized that there are so many things i'm a fan of that don't have listings. is it up to me to create them? i guess so. :-\ hehe.

i've added yet another upcoming hanson concert to my schedule: atlanta on october 29th. i threw together the concert countdown graphic so that i may further indulge in this crazy devotion. ;) as of right now, i'm at 17 days until orlando and 19 days until atlanta. :-D

i guess that's it.

hanson. in new orleans. wow. ;)  hands-down, my 11th hanson show was the best i have seen thus far. :)  we ran into them at the radio station and i took a massive amount of photos. :-x
