basics    devoted to    web history

i created my first website in late 1997. at first i used aol's webpage creator, then moved to various freesites. i taught myself html by studying 'the complete idiot's guide to html' and learned the art of graphics thanks to adobe photodeluxe. the site then became hosted on a fan domain, which excited me nonetheless. my prayers were answered when i received my first copies of microsoft frontpage [no more raw coding!] and adobe photoshop. i am also familiar with jasc paintshop pro.

astoundingly, my first website still exists and has survived many, many revamps and overhauls as i learned, experimented, tweaked, and moved.  what began as an aol homepage evolved into hand-coded html and then into an acceptable production with the aforementioned tools.

websites come and websites go, but few have the lasting power of hansonzine... the difference between truth and fiction.

hansonzine is not my sole web presentation, of course; a self-proclaimed webdesigner is constantly creating new sites, for both themselves and others. usually the list of developed sites is considerably lengthy, to the point where many are forgotten.  perhaps this is the case when it comes to me. ;)
